On Feb 4th 2024 I wrote for you and for us about Grief

Grief is like a heavy stone on your heart.

Grief is the realization you will never see them laugh, or talk again.

Grief is knowing they were so much more than their darkest moments, and yet the darkness won.

Grief is anger, guilt and sadness.

Grief is confusing, it’s all encompassing and its brutal.

Grief is hoping they are happy wherever they are.

Grief is crying when the sun shines one more day.

Grief is love unrequited.

Grief is a mother caring for a dying child.

Grief is a father doing the last rites for a fallen son.

Grief is a sister feeding a brother his last meal, and last sips of water.

Grief is watching your loved one slip away.

Sometimes grief is just grief, it is the ocean that seems to be consuming you.

It is the memories you cling to, lest you forgot them.

It is the opportunities missed, the life not lived.

It will be with me forever now, this shape shifting beast that is now my friend.
